On World Human Rights Day, December 10th, it's a chance to reflect on Taiwan's journey toward strengthening human rights protection.

Taiwan made history in 2019 by becoming the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage! 🏳️‍🌈 This milestone represents Taiwan’s journey toward a society that embraces diversity(多元 duōyuán), freedom(自由 zìyóu), and openness(開放 kāifàng).

Taiwan celebrates its National Day (國慶日 Guó qìng rì), also known as Double Tenth Day (雙十節 Shuāng shí jié), on October 10. This day marks the turning point from imperial rule to a democratic republic in history. 🌟 Every year on this day, a flag-raising ceremony is held in front of the Presidential Office, followed by exciting parades and performances 🎉. In the evening, there will be a spectacular fireworks display 🎆.
