Get ready for the Dragon Boat Festival!
On June 10, athletes worldwide will gather by the riverside for thrilling races. Join the fun at Dajia Riverside Park(大佳河濱公園) in Taipei!
Legend has it that the festival honors Qū Yuán(屈原), an ancient poet and politician who drowned himself in despair when his country fell. To prevent fish from consuming his body, locals tossed food to feed the fish and splashed water on boats to scare the fish away—giving rise to rice dumplings (粽子zòngzi) and dragon boat (龍舟lóngzhōu)! 🚣♂️
