Tzu Chi Academy, Northern New Jersey (Tzu Chi NNJ) is excited to announce that we have entered into a new partnership with the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML). The TCML@Tzu Chi NNJ offers an excellent opportunity to learn Mandarin and explore culture for adult learners. This course features immersive, theme-based lessons and welcomes all proficiency levels. The program runs across two semesters each academic year, yielding a total of 24 classes, each 3 hours long. The first two hours consist of an in-person Mandarin class, while the third hour will be virtual, focusing on exposing students to a wide variety of cultural activities and traditions. Education is one of Tzu Chi’s four major missions. In addition to learning Mandarin, Tzu Chi’s educational philosophy also attaches great importance to the life ethics and moral concepts of the next generation. For this reason, we have established a humanities school. Our curriculum is based around humanistic education, which emphasizes the respect, love, and care we should have for all people. We not only strive to lay a strong language foundation for children regardless of their cultural background, but also to teach them how to be a caring individual who will give back to society in the future. Through this new partnership with TCML, we are excited to expand our offerings to include adult learners!
